Sonia Katz Zelmanovich, of Columbus, died on October 31, 2007. She was preceded in death by her late husband, Ben Katz, daughter, Rita Katz Hoffman, and stepdaughter, Erika Katz. She is survived by her husband, Leopold Zelmanovich; children, Arlene (Ami) Sapir, Ruth (David) Katz-Levine, Michael (Sheryl) Katz; stepdaughter, Katerina (Sasha) Fishkin; son-in-law, Martin (Geraldine) Hoffman; grandchildren, Brad (Robin) Hoffman, Rick (Anny) Hoffman, Cheri (Tod) Friedman, Debbie (Jeff) Meyer, Seth (Leslie) Hoffman, Jennifer Sapir, Ben Sapir, Benjamin Katz, Zachary Katz, Samuel Katz, and Jonathan Katz; step-grandchildren, Tabatha Fishkin, Cassie Fishkin, Max Fishkin, Daniel Katz, Victor Katz, Perel Chaikin, and Chaya Katz; great-grandchildren, Alex Hoffman, Gabriel Hoffman, Aaron Hoffman, Jordan Hoffman, Noah Hoffman, Rachel Friedman, Ross Friedman, Kara Friedman, Chad Meyer, Joshua Meyer, William Meyer, Rebecca Hoffman and Miles Hoffman. Sonia was a lifelong member of Beth Jacob Synagogue and Beth Jacob sisterhood. Funeral Service 11 AM Thursday, November 1, 2007 at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main Street, with Rabbi Naphtali Weisz and Cantor Jeff Siegel officiating. Burial to follow at New Beth Jacob Cemetery. Memorial contributions preferred to Beth Jacob Congregation or to Columbus Torah Academy.
