Sheldon M. Schwartz Obituary (1934 - 2015)

Sheldon M. Schwartz, age 81, passed away on November 17, 2015. Preceded in death by his wife, Gwen Goldfarb Schwartz; parents, Sidney and Pearl Schwartz; brothers, William Schwartz and Jerome Schwartz. He is survived by his daughter, Sydney Schwartz; son, Andrew (Heidi) Schwartz; longtime companion, Nancy Levin; sisters-in-law, Roberta Schwartz and Marilyn (Robert) Knable; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Shelly’s family was everything to him. He loved to sing, play cards, watch old movies and tell “stories.” His passion was making people and himself laugh. Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm on Thursday, November 19 at EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Mitchell Levine officiating. Burial will follow at New Agudas Achim Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the home of Andrew and Heidi Schwartz on Thursday from 5-8pm, Friday from 12-3pm, Saturday from 7-9pm and Sunday from 2-7pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Wounded Warrior Project or Jewish War Veterans in his memory.
