Sara "Sis" Levinson Obituary (1923 - 2012)

Sara "Sis" Levinson, age 89, passed away on October 1, 2012. Preceded in death by her husband, Martin Levinson; parents, Ralph and Rose Groban and brothers, Robert and Joseph Groban. She is survived by her son, Chuck (Kathleen) Levinson; grandchildren, Michael (Jennifer) Crail and Stefanie (Steven) Schaffer; great grandchildren, Aiden and Sofia Schaffer, Morgan and Mason Crail; sisters-in-law, Evelyn and Irene Groban; and several nieces, nephews and wonderful friends. Wonderful mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Sis was an avid golfer, bowler and card player, especially Bridge and Mahjong. She loved going out for meals with her friends. She was an active member of Congregation Tifereth Israel of over 60 years and active with B'nai Brith. Sis logged over 7,000 hours as a volunteer at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Thursday, October 4th at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Harold Berman officiating. Shiva to be determined. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Congregation Tifereth Israel - Rabbi Discretionary Fund or Wexner Heritage Village in her memory.
