Rolf M. Kaufman Obituary (1935 - 2013)

Rolf M. Kaufman, age 77, passed away on August 13, 2013. Preceded in death by his parents, Dolf and Lore Kaufman. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Ellie Kaufman; daughter, Janine (Robert) Scher; son, Michael (Sheri) Kaufman; grandchildren, Daniel, Mitchell, Lori, Zach and Casey. Rolf fled Germany as a child and later had a passion to educate young people about the Holocaust and bullying. He was a US Army Veteran and board member at Temple Beth Shalom. Rolf had a wonderful sense of humor and was a kind and generous man. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on August 15th at EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St. with Rabbi Howard Apothaker officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the Kaufman residence immediately following the burial until 8pm (service at 7pm) and Friday from 1 to 4pm (service at 1pm) In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to World Wildlife Foundation or United States Holocaust Museum in his memory.
