Otto Schwartz Obituary (1931 - 2009)

Otto Schwartz, of Columbus, passed away June 20, 2009. He is preceded in death by his sister, Florence Rubin and brother-in-law, Morris Chijner. Survived by daughters, Toni (Jim) Demsky and Steffanie (Scott) Myers; son, Joel (Karen) Schwartz; sisters, Bessie Chijner and Shirley (Fred) Winick; brother, Samuel (Gail) Schwartz; grandchildren, Samantha (Adam) Gay, Jeffrey and John Demsky, Jordan and Joshua Myers. Otto was born in Steubenville, Ohio to Clifford and Libby Schwartz and moved to Columbus in 1947. He graduated from Ohio State with a B.A. in accounting in 1954. He served in the United States Army for 2 years, stationed in Korea. Otto was known by many as a "Real Character" and leaves behind many friends and family members with wonderful memories and funny stories to be recounted. Funeral service 2 PM Monday, June 22, 2009 at THE EPSTEIN MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 3232 E. Main St., with Rabbi Harold Berman and Cantor Jack Chomsky officiating. Burial to follow at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed through Thursday evening at the Joel and Karen Schwartz residence.
