Neal Becker

–

New Albany, Ohio

If you ever met Neal, you knew it. He was intense and funny and always
had something to chat about. He had a breadth of knowledge and could
make conversation with anyone, anywhere. Neal was an incredible dad,
fastidious and particular, surprisingly sensitive, intuitive and fiercely
protective of his loved ones. Memorable, honest; he loved tennis, going to
the gym, the Cubs, the Bulls, Hoosiers, his dog Monty and desserts (mostly
chocolate). A cancer survivor, he donated blood 52 times and supported
many charities; he helped raise nearly $200,000 for St. Jude.

Neal was born on Chicago’s South Side, the youngest of four, to parents
who were lifelong educators. Moving to the North Shore as a toddler, he
spent summers at Camp Nebagamon in Wisconsin and graduated from
Highland Park High School in 1984. Neal studied business at Indiana
University and graduated in 1988 with many lifelong friends he met as a
member of Alpha Epsilon Pi. He built a career in sales, working for the
Leon Korol Co. for more than 25 years, and every year on his work
anniversary he ordered pizzas for the entire office. His customers adored
him; he was forthright and warm.

He is predeceased by his beloved son, Louie, and carried an
insurmountable and pervasive sadness, missing Louie immensely since
2016, and missing his late father, Ralph.

He is survived by his wife, Alisa;mother, Betty; sisters Pam (Howard Reich) Becker, Jean (Phil Volpi) Becker and Rhonda (Robert) Fontes; and his nephew, Rafael Fontes.

Graveside services will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, May 11, 2026 at Green Lawn

and Louie's memory be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital
