Julian Samuel Moliff Obituary (2007)

Julian Samuel Moliff, of Blacklick, passed away January 8, 2007. He was born at Grant Hospital in Columbus. Preceded in death by one son, Howard P. Moliff and his parents, Samuel and Edith Moliff, and sister-in-law, Ruth Moliff. Survived by wife, Shirley; daughters, Linda (Robert) Solt, and Sharon (James) Griffin; son, Jeffre (Regina) Moliff; sister, Sylvia (Harold) Chaiten; brother, Albert Moliff; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Julian was a WWII veteran. He served in the Pacific Guadal Canal and the CBI Theatre in Merrill’s Marauders. He was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, the Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, and other campaign metals. He was later stationed at West Point where he taught the use of small arms weapons. After leaving the Army, he returned to OSU on the GI Bill where he met his wife, Shirley. They were together for 59 years. He was an industrial paint chemist and had one patent. He was a past president of Euclid, Ohio B’nai Brith and he bowled with the B’nai Brith group in Columbus. He was a member of the Jewish War Veterans, Post 212. He will be sorely missed. Friends will be received at 7426 E. Broad Street in the clubhouse of the Willow Oaks Condominiums on Sunday, January 14, 2007 at 12 PM.
