Harold M. Schneider Obituary (1928 - 2015)

Harold M. Schneider, age 86, passed away on January 15, 2015. Preceded in death by his parents, David and Ruth Schneider and sister, Benita Schaffer. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Judith, best friend and love of his life; sons and daughters-in-law, Craig Schneider and Carol Schaefer, Ronald Schneider and Dr. Tracy Lynn McFall; grandchildren, Rose and Samuel Schneider; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lois (Kates) and Marty Arshram; nieces, nephews and cousins. Harold was born in Columbus, Ohio, graduating from South High School. He attended the Ohio State University and was a licensed pilot and real estate agent. He enjoyed volunteer work and was a member of Jewish War Veterans Capital Post 122. He was a life member of Congregation Tifereth Israel and served as member of the Board of Trustees and a member of Chevra Kadisha for twenty years, also serving as its chairman. After retiring from KAPAC in 1993, Harold enjoyed world travel and organizing lunches with his many retiree friends, known as the ROMEO'S. Harold was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, January 18 at Congregation Tifereth Israel Katz Chapel, 1354 E. Broad St. with Rabbi Michael Ungar officiating. Interment will follow at New Tifereth Israel Cemetery. Shiva will be observed at the Schneider residence immediately following interment on Sunday, and 7:00 pm on Monday through Thursday. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Congregation Tifereth Israel in his memory.
