Gines "Jean" Korenberg Obituary (1930 - 2017)

Gines “Jean” Korenberg, age 87 passed away on August 20, 2017. Holocaust Survivor, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. Preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Korenberg; father, Lazer Abramovici, who perished in the Holocaust and her mother, Fannie Abramovici and brother, Joseph Avital. Survived by her daughter, Mary (Tom) Fries; son, Dan (Francoise) Korenberg; grandchildren, Andrew Fries, Alli (Tim) Henry, Max Fries, Emile (Sam) Plouchart and Olivia Korenberg; sister-in-law, Carmilite Avital of Israel and niece and nephew. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Wednesday, August 23 at New Agudas Achim Cemetery, 2565 Performance Way. Shiva will be observed immediately following the service at Congregation Agudas Achim until 6pm. In lieu of flowers, donations are preferred to Zusman Hospice or Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
