George M. Levine, age 84, died peacefully Monday at his home in Grandview with his wife of 60 years, Renee, at his side. George was proudest of his “dividends”; his children: Meryll (Christopher) Page, Chuck (Elisa Stancil) Levine, Leslie (Harry) Adler and his grandchildren: Daniel (Alissa) Abelson, Michael Abelson, Dafna Abelson, Lisa Levine, Isaac Adler, and Maya Adler and his great grandson, Zachary Abelson. George is also survived by his sisters-in-law Annette and Nancy Levine and beloved nieces and nephews and the whole “mishpocha”. George was preceded in death by his parents, Irving and Rae Levine, and his brothers, Dr. Earl and Sydney Levine.

George served in the Army Air Force during World War II and was a graduate of OSU and Harvard Business School. He had a long and happy career as a businessman. After 38 years at Capitol Manufacturing, he retired as President in 1986 but continued to serve on the board of Harsco Corporation. His subsequent careers included Group President of Edward Industries, President of F.A. Kohler, and President of Cantex Industries until 1996. George took an active role in the Jewish community serving on boards of Congregation Tifereth Israel, the Jewish Theological Seminary, Camp Ramah.
