Ernestine K. Shore Obituary (1929 - 2013)

Ernestine "Ernie" Kay Shore, 84, passed away on February 18, 2013. She was born December 27, 1929, in Jackson, Ohio to Ernest and Beatrice Downard. She was a wonderful and devoted woman, who cherished her family, friends and love of community. Ernie worked tirelessly as a volunteer in the communities of Lancaster, Newark and Cambridge, Ohio; as a past president and active member of the Guernsey Memorial Hospital Auxillary, Chairman of the Central District Hospital Volunteer Services, Ohio Hospital Association State Auxiliary Leader, Synagogue Sisterhood of Temple Beth Israel, Newark, Temple Beth Abraham, Zanesville, and Hadassah. Throughout their lives together, she also assisted her husband, Alex Shore, in the ownership and management of the Style Center, in Cambridge, Ohio, as well as several other stores. Our mother accomplished so much within her lifetime, as a wife, parent and volunteer. She will be sorely missed, and remembered most, for her beautiful smile and twinkling blue eyes, that could light up a room; and for her devotion and love of community, to helping others whenever and wherever she could. Ernie is survived by her children, Ronald, Susan, Mark, and Marilyn; grandchildren, Aaron, Eric, Meagan, Jennifer, Joel, Jackie, Lily, Bobby, Tara; great grandchildren, Zachary, Josephine, Xjavier, Breyah, Jaden, and Justin. Graveside service 10:00am on Tuesday, February 19th at NEW TIFERETH ISRAEL CEMETERY, 2565 Performance Pkwy. with Rabbi Michael Ungar officiating.
