Doris Jean Eppstein Obituary (1916

Doris Jean Eppstein, age 91, of Youngstown, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2007. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Stanley Martin Eppstein of 62 years, daughter Marjorie Ann, sister Ruth Shapiro and brother Harold Leopold. Jean was born August 1, 1916, the youngest daughter of Emma and Albert Leopold. Jean was a lifelong member of Temple Rodef Sholom in Youngstown, Ohio. She graduated from Eastern Michigan University. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and a dear friend to all who knew her, and was always available to anyone who needed a helping hand. Jean charmed everyone she ever met not only with her beauty but with her heart. Mrs. Eppstein was a lifelong volunteer at Temple Rodef Shalom and also at hospitals in Youngstown as well as a docent at The Butler Museum of Art, but nothing was as important to her as her family. Jean is survived by daughter Judy (Steve) Tuckerman, son Steven Eppstein, five grandchildren; Brian (Audrey) Tuckerman, Craig (Connie) Tuckerman, Elise (Richard) Robinowitz, Sppencer Eppstein, Austin Eppstein, nine great-grandchildren; Jake, Sam, Maddie, Georgia, Arie, Charlie, Sarah, Lauren, Jackson, sister Lois (Howard) Israel, also loving nephews and nieces Dick and Anita Shapiro, Mark and Donna Shapiro and Bill and Linda Shapiro. She is also survived by Dorothy Woods, a loving member of the family household for 30 years. We were all so blessed to have Jean in our lives. Funeral service 11:30 AM at Rodef Sholom Chapel at The Tod Homestead Cemetery, 2200 Belmont Avenue, in Youngstown, Ohio, Wednesday, October 31, 2007, with Rabbi Frank Muller officiating. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate any contributions to be made to Wexner Heritage Village, 1151 College Avenue, Columbus, Ohio 43209. Shiva will be observed at the Tuckerman residence Thursday evening at 7 pm.
