Celeste Keates Holschuh Obituary (1941 - 2021)

Celeste Keates Holschuh, age 79, née Klein, passed away after a long courageous battle with breast cancer. Born in New York City, the fifth of five daughters to Sarah and Zoltan Klein, she attended The Kew Forest School, Connecticut College, and The University of Pennsylvania. Preceded in death by her loving husband The Honorable John D. Holschuh, as well as her sisters Jeanette (Isio) Gottfried and Mary (Mortimer) Stern, and her wonderful brother-in-law Daniel Doctor. Survived by her loving children Eric Keates, Hilary Keates (Tony), and stepson John (Wendy) Holschuh Jr as well as her sisters Judith Doctor and Helen (Melvin) Neisloss and sister-in-law Carolyn Flamm, and twelve nieces and nephews. She was a philanthropist who cared about hungry families as well as other causes including The Ohio State University hospital, WOSU, and the arts. Known for her exquisite taste, she was also an avid gardener, and a member of a wonderful book club for 36 years with vibrant and caring women. We are most appreciative of her loving doctors for her care including Dr. Grecula, Dr. Farrar, Dr. Allen, and Dr. Ramaswamy. A Celebration of Life will be held in the future.
